Dr. Mariano Enderle

Psychotherapist and Psychoanalyst.

The need for attachment, for a relationship of emotional harmony and an appropriate mirroring are considered fundamental elements in the development of a subjective identity that allows us to immerse ourselves in the relational dimension without losing the sense of our distinct individuality.

When these initial conditions are traumatically deficient, the mind is defensively structured towards a disorganized emotionality that threatens the inner cohesion of our identity and compromises the indispensable relationships with the outside world.

About me

individual and couple psychotherapy in Milan

My training was predominantly psychoanalytic; an important part of my years of training took place in New York, where I went in search of an eclectic training that would allow me to explore the multiplicity of theoretical models that have characterized the development of psychoanalysis in recent decades.

In fact, I believe that a contemporary psychotherapist has the responsibility to know the different theoretical perspectives: not only for the purpose of an understanding of the problems presented by a patient, but also because the different theoretical models become determinant and indispensable transformative opportunities for the patient.

I have learned to appreciate a dialectical and creative use of the different theoretical perspectives, resizing the need for absolute truths and reifying theories.

Contemporary psychoanalysis has integrated in Freud's drives and reductionist model the relational and experiential dimension, recognizing the deeply relational nature of the human mind and the centrality of the achievement of a subjective identity, i.e. the importance of the sense of living subjectively our existence.

Areas of expertise

psicoanalisi relazionale

Relational psychoanalysis and individual psychotherapy

The objective of the treatment is the transformation of the unresolved pathological aspects of the subject, a consequence of relational traumas that have limited the development of the subjective identity.

The psychoanalytic method creates the necessary conditions so that these traumas can find expression in the relationship with the therapist and the deficit can be resolved through the emotionally corrective experience.

Short-term integrative therapy focused on individual

This is an intervention focused on the significant identified problem, the resolution of which helps the patient to achieve the desired purpose.

The role of psychotherapeutic intervention is to implement interventions to modify the factors that hinder the evolutionary process.

Short-term couple therapy

The integrated, Psychodynamic/ expressive and cognitive approach has proved to be particularly useful in couples’ therapy.

The identification of the latent conflict between individual psychological structures is one of the crucial aspects to understand and resolve the tendency to repeat the inappropriate modalities of attachment of the past.

Treatment of PTSD with EMDR

The emdr treatment post traumatic disorder, through the bilateral movement of the eyes, facilitates the reworking of the unresolved traumatic memories that tend to reoccur in the present as a result of trigger factors.

This technique integrates the emotional, cognitive and neural circuit of the brain which is associated with the traumatic event.

Areas of intervention and treatment of mental disorders

disturbi dell'umore

Mood disorders: anxiety and depression

Persistent affective states that reveal an arrest of psychic development in phases of dependence associated with profound experiences of impotence, psychic isolation and shame.
disturbi della personalità

Personality disorders

They occur as a result of serious relational trauma, such as abuse or neglect, which interfere with the harmonious development of the personality.

The subject remains trapped in the continual repetition of the failures of the past by experiencing states of anxiety of traumatic abandonment, uncontrolled impulsiveness and difficulty in managing frustration.
disturbi del sonno

Sleep and eating disorders, sexual dysfunctions and dependencies

The lack of a relational containment leaves the subject at the mercy of disorganized affective states, so these disorders represent an attempt to manage disorganizing emotions. Eating disorders, drug addiction, sleep and sexual dysfunction are an expression of this original failure.
attacchi di panico

Traumatic anxiety and panic attacks

Considered a actual disorders, it is a consequence of a serious failure of the care-giver in containing the emotions of the child in a primary stage of development.
Non-shared and dissociated emotions become, in moments of separation, overwhelming.
disturbi dissociativi

Complex post-traumatic dissociative disorders

Dissociative disorder is a consequence of a relational trauma of severe and chronic disorganizing attachment. The personality is structured in parts of the self rigidly separated and suffered by the subject.
disturbi relazionali nella coppia

Attachment disorders and relational conflicts in the couple

The relational modalities of dysfunctional attachment become, in the relationship, a source of collusion or collision interfering with the maintenance of the transitional space of intimacy, which is necessary for the partners.
